Violet A. Guerrero Ponce

 

Violet A. Guerrero Ponce is a Mexican American photographer and filmmaker based in New York City. Her work explores the intersections of fashion, identity, and memory often drawing from her cultural roots, spirituality, and personal archives to tell deeply human stories.

Over the past five years, she has photographed behind the scenes and runway moments across the CFDA calendar, following designers such as Willy Chavarria from New York Fashion Week to his debut in Paris. She was mentored by Greg Scaffidi, a legendary Vogue runway photographer, and has since and has since expanded her practice through her production company working across fashion, film, and print.

Working primarily with film, Violet embraces the tactile process of darkroom printing, merging traditional methods with contemporary style. Her photographs are known for their warmth, intimacy, and cinematic quality blending natural light, organic textures, and emotional depth.

A graduate of The City College of New York with a BFA in Photography, Violet continues to expand her creative practice through portraiture, fashion, and experimental film. Her work honors her heritage while capturing the beauty and complexity of the world around her always guided by intuition, emotion, and purpose.
